The roles have been switched and in today's episode Henrik Grønnegaard is a guest in the Them Noutron studio. Henrik is a former elite runner and is said to be behind the first major running podcast in Denmark called Frontrunner. He also works daily as a running coach and announcer for some of the largest Danish races.
We return to the Olympics in Paris, where Henrik was down to comment on the athletics. Did we see what we expected from the big stars, and were there perhaps any disappointments? One Norwegian star in particular made a mark – both for better and for worse – and he also made his debut at the half marathon distance in Copenhagen the other day. A race where the expectation was that we might get a new world record, but where perhaps a little too much tactics went into it. Fortunately, there were several strong Danish performances in both the women's and men's events since.
Finally, we talk about being a coach. How does Henrik approach athletes and what is his training philosophy? There has been a lot of development in running over the past 5-10 years. What is the reason for this, and where do we look towards the future?
